    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course created a pathway I have never fathomed when I was younger. Chemistry is a subject taken for granted and frequently ignored with complaints of its high difficulty or Mathemathics needed. However, after a year of this course, a new passion was ignited within me to pursue chemical engineering as major. It may seem to be intimidating, however, if you are up for a challenge, do yourself a favor and take this class. You won't regret doing of all of intriguing lab experiments and learning about the building blocks of the chemical world.

    Course highlights:

In this course, you will learn an extensive, in depth basics that serve as a precursor to future classes of chemistry in the near collegiate future. The multiple titrations I performed and the hands-on lab experiments were very memorable and interesting. I've learned about the basics reactions found in natural world as well as the properties of various elements found on the periodic table. I learned the mechanics of several types of bonding as well as acid/bases, redox reactions, and laws of chemistry regarding thermodynamics, equilibrium and different states of substances. What I remember the most was the relationship between different elements and how structures of molecules or compounds affects its properties. I may not covered everything, however, most of this course left me with a different perspective of the world.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention of the teacher's notes/tips of working out any problems, and make sure to read the book thoroughly. Never be afraid to seek for help when you really need and review what has been covered frequently whether it is through reading or practicing problems.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the labs that we got to do. I learned how to take good measurements and how to follow directions that were very important to the lab.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't give up. It may take time to get the subject but once it clicks you will be able to get through it with ease. Be sure to take good notes that will help you understand the topic.
