    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would totally recommend only if you are determined to be dedicated. Don't come into the class expecting an easy A there are a lot of labs involved and not doing the research can really confuse you.

    Course highlights:

The course goes over a large amount of topics. Genetic engineering was extremely fascinating. Also, the units on ecology were really interesting just because it allows you to see how humans impact the world and all the organisms inhabiting it.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Reading the book is necessary. If you don't put in the work you won't prosper all the ideas interconnect so slacking on one chapter can cause confusion later on.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was so intriguing. Learning about the molecular status of how things interact as they do caused me to dive into the curriculum with such depth I felt like an expert.

    Course highlights:

Molecular biology had to be my favorite unit. My teacher instructed us on the techniques of: electrophoresis, micro pipetting, and transforming plasmid DNA into E-coli.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Studying is key and every formula matters. Missing one section can cause confusion when leading into other lessons. It is all about the bigger picture not just mastery of a singular section.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone who is looking into pursuing a field where a biology class is necessary. This class is challenging and prepares you for how classes will be in college. An important note to know, is that your involvement and self learning outside of class in books and online will determine your success in the class.

    Course highlights:

An important thing I learned in this class is the proper way to do a lab and the importance in why it's necessary to do so. You are able to learn about life down to the biological level and then on behavioral levels. Evidence for evolution is especially an interesting topic is learning about common ancestors and how everything seems to be related.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Buying AP books is especially important, not only for the AP test but for your success in the class throughout the year. Get to know the people in your class because having people to talk to when the material gets difficult is important to have.
