    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because I believe it did serve as a good foundation for learning about the world of statistics. This is a subject I have never taken a full class of before until now, but I was able to start grasping its different concepts through this course.

    Course highlights:

I gained knowledge on many of the different topics encapsulated by statistics. This includes things like plotting, graphing, and analyzing data; calculating probability; estimating proper sample sizes; etc.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Taking good notes, making sure you know all the various formulas, their variables, and how to go use these formulas is key first and foremost. It is also very important to be able to understand and break down word problem scenarios so you can understand everything that they are asking you to do.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Unfortunately, I was one of those people that could not for the life of them understand math. The first time I took statistics I ended up having to withdrawal from the class in fear of getting a D on my transcript. Luckily, I was able to retake this class with Christopher Juarez. He takes the time to create step-by-step note sets that are the same notes he fills out during his lectures. He even color coordinates his steps so it's very easy to follow his procedures. I was so worried that this one class was going to prevent me from continuing on in my college career, but this class really helped me not only get an A in the class, but to figure out how to study for other classes as well.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the fact that I was able to obtain confidence in myself about my math skills. I had always struggled in math and the professor provided a thorough curriculum that made math seem like a no-brainer. The class taught me how to successfully study for all future classes, whether it be math or microbiology.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you have to take this course, you should definitely sign up early and look for a spot in one of Christopher Juarez's classes. As long as you attend every class period and fill out the notes that he provides you with, you will do great in his class room. He really is there to help you succeed and wants you to understand the content.
