Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend taking this course because it looks good for college. You have a chance to get college credit for it. Also Ms. Schmidt is a wonderful teacher and wants you to get the most you can from the class in the short year you have it. She will help you with anything you need help on and is fun to have conversations with.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much from this course. We did many projects and two of them were pretending to be a famous historical figure bad or good. This was a fun project because we voted on the best and Ms. Schmidt had coasters made for the winners. We also do identifies which seem very tedious at the time but doing them betters you as a student and makes you remember every identify. She also helps a lot with preparing you for the AP exam at the end of the year.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook. Do not just assume that you can figure everything out without reading the textbook. Plus Ms. Schmidt can tell when you don't read the textbook.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because you get to really learn what it's like to be in a college course while still being in high school.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were getting to know my peers as we worked in study groups because this was a rigorous course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say that you have to read every single handout. Don't think that you can just blow it off because you can't. Even one missed reading can make or break you in this course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It goes further into depth about US History than we have ever learned in regular history classes. Ms Snow is very knowledgeable about everything to do with history and makes learning it a unique experience.

    Course highlights:

Learning those little tidbits about history that are never talked about in brief overviews of us history. Things like the life of James Madison and how his friendships with other leaders influenced the rest of history. Also there a focus on women's history in a course that generally only focuses on men. Things like the factory life of the girls who worked in the Lowell Mills and the Seneca Falls Conference.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read! Read! Read! The textbook and any handouts given out need to be read in order to fully understand the course.
