Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The teacher makes sure the students understand the material to the fullest.

    Course highlights:

This class is deeper than your typical biology. It goes deeper into the material learner as a sophomore. For example, in terms of mitosis you learn the general steps the cell undergoes , but in AP Bio, its a deeper more complicated thing to learn.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study the material as it is learned, don't wait and try to study it all in one night, its a tough class with a lot of material. Take your time and understand it.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Taking any AP class in high school will set you up for success in college. AP Biology with Mr. Hubbard was very challenging. What I liked most was that it did not feel like a high school class where you are helped every step of the way. There was room for struggle and there was also room for independent thinking. I learned a lot about biology and the way I learn. I highly recommend taking AP Biology.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this class, to me, were the independent reading assignments. I loved learning about things more in depth than the lectures would go. Having the opportunity to have a resource that goes into great deatail about topics really expands the learning of this class.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Even though it sounds intimidating I would encourage you to take it. It will challenge you and make you uncomfortable, however it also prepares you a great deal for college and life.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because, although it is challenging, It is a very interesting and educating class. Mr. Fickbohm is a wonderful teacher and that class prepared me for the AP test an incredible amount. Thanks to Mr. Fickbohm and AP Biology, I went into the AP test with a lot of confidence in my abilities to do well.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were definitely completing the AP test, and seeing how much I have learned since the beginning of the school year. Watching my thirst for learning become satisfied as I was abundantly educated in biology throughout the year was a very emotional and grateful moment for me and made the entire class worth it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students considering this class to definitely enroll. I was slightly interested in biology when I enrolled and the class has made me look forward to studying biology in college even more. As far as study tips go, make sure you are prepared to devote time and energy to this class all year long. It moves pretty quickly while also going pretty in depth which can be challenging.
