    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to become a better writer. This course will teach you to think outside of the box to explain things in a way you never imagined.

    Course highlights:

I gained the knowledge of how to write like I was in college. My teacher graded tough, but fair. It made us work harder, and made us proud of the final product.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed, you need to try. This is not a class you can sit through and not do any work. You need to put the time in and you will reap rewards.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would defiantly recommend this class to other students because it is a great way to learn tools to become a better writer. The course does a great job with helping each student learn how to make their writing more precise. I think a lot of high school students (including myself) sometimes have trouble writing EXACTLY what they mean. This course helps with getting your thoughts and opinions on paper in a way that conveys exactly what you are trying to say. Students learn a lot of different modes of writing and how to identify and write in these different modes. Also, in order to assist students with becoming better writers, it is completely necessary for the students to study advanced literature and to analyze writing tactics that they can also include in their writing. All of the essays required to complete the task helped me with my editing skills and the word limits helped with keeping my main points precise. I believe students need this course in order to be better writers for college!

    Course highlights:

The main highlight of this course is defiantly all the papers that we had to write. I liked how each time we were assigned a paper, we had to complete a thorough plan and outline before starting the rough draft. The multiple days and techniques of editing were so useful in making the papers better. Also, the papers took up such a large part of our final grade that all of the students put so much work into each one. Personally, my first paper got a really bad grade on it (when I thought it was a pretty good paper!), but each paper that I wrote got better and better. I especially liked that our final for the class was to rewrite the first paper that we ever wrote... it was a great way of measuring how much of a better writer each student became by the time the class was completed.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this class, each student needs to remember that the hard grading system and all of the work is for a good cause! A lot of the students in the class ended up with a bad grades in the beginning of the course because the writing is so advanced. But once each student understands what is expected and discovers their unique way of getting old work done, they are repaid with good grades. Also it is so important that each student in the class knows that they are improving! It is a hard class and sometimes this will make kids feel like they are not getting any better, but once they have do their final paper and reflect on their very first paper they will see how they improved! Always do the readings because there are pop-up reading quizzes, and complete the summer work to save yourself some time with learning all of the rhetorical devices!
