    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it to students who would like a challenging course and who are ready to actually learn biology from a very good professor. He teaches the class at an honors level so be prepared to retain a lot of information and learn a lot as well. As you move through the chapters the material becomes more complex, so always take great notes.

    Course highlights:

My professor was very confident in what he taught. Most professors teach lectures by reading off powerpoint slides, but my professor was different. He was well versed in the subject, which allowed him to talk a lot during lectures and give our class supplemental information. I was able to take great notes because of this and that in turn helped with all my exams. Another highlight of this course was that my professor gave each student their own grading rubric. This allowed me to keep track of all my grades for every test quiz and homework.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

In order to pass this class, it is very important that you take good nots. Professor Tamari talks a lot, so always write. In the beginning of the course he lets you know it is writing intensive. Always ask questions if you don't understand the material he will explain it to you right there or he will tell you to see him after lecture. He is always available after lecture for 5-10 minutes. Whenever there are exams he gives review sheets, use the review sheets to your advantage. Take as many practice exams as you can and you will definitely pass. There are 3 exams and 1 final. There are also group assignments during lecture that will help you with test reviews.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Really good class and professor! Not boring and knows what to say so that we understand and the subject is interesting when the professor explains it in their way.

    Course highlights:

Cells and organism in the environment. Food chains and dissection of fetal pig is interesting and we looked inside other substances such as saliva and the insides of a bug.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to sit in the front roll to make sure you get the best out of the lecture and lab. Take notes of everything, you will never know when it will show up on a test. Also to ask questions of things you do not understand.
