Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class really helped to broaden my world view, something that I find to be incredibly important in our rapidly expanding and globalizing world. Learning about other cultures and their norms and values helped me to shed the ethnocentric ideology I had been conditioned to believe. This class will make you a better person by increasing your respect and appreciation for foreign cultures.

    Course highlights:

The most valuable thing that I learned in this course was the definition of ethnocentrism and the many ways in which ethnocentric beliefs can be incredibly damaging not only to those cultures that are different from what is familiar to you, but it is also damaging to one's potential as a student and as a human being. The belief that one's culture is right and another is wrong can be a poisonous one.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read the material because the professor is incredibly brilliant and rattles all of his course lectures off the top of his head and doesn't bother himself to correlate directly with the material covered in the book. The tests however are based on information from the book, so make sure you read.
