Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend it primarily for the fact that you meet extraordinary people in a theatre department. You are allowed to be a true and more complete version of yourself in a space where judgement does not exist! It taught me more than just acting. It taught me about human nature, and life. There is also no experience quite like being on stage with your cast members. For me, it was like finding a home away from home.

    Course highlights:

I have been able to participate in over a dozen shows/musicals, which taught me how to work with others. Even the lead can't have all the spotlight, and the chorus should have a time to shine too! I was taught to not judge others for being different, but to love them for being unique. I have gained leadership experience by being Theatre President at my high school. I have learned the making of a stage inside and out and ways to make myself an overall better person. The things you learn in this course go beyond the stage and the classroom. They go with you in every step of your future. They guide you through life. It's wonderful to watch somebody become inspired by the atmosphere of the stage.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Never, under any circumstances, procrastinate. Even if you are just a minor role, I recommend that you attempt to be the first one memorized. It should always be a challenge to be the best character you can possibly be. Also, take constructive criticism when offered. It will make you a better actor and it helps you in any job you go into for that matter. Yet, the best advice I can possibly give, is to just be yourself. Only YOU can truly be that character. So don't be afraid to be different or weird, because your little quirks make you unique, and they are the best parts of you.
