Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I really struggle in math, and I hadn't taken a course in years. I tried Trig., and completely bombed even with the help of caring professor. Luckily, this course was designed to help those who worked during the day and went to school at night. This design helped me to apply practical ways to use statistics in every day life. More so, I learned an appreciation for how mathematicians and scientist use these formulas although most of the course uses the easier processes on the calculator. I also enjoyed that there was no book required to purchase, but it was available with the online lab that is needed. Attendance is crucial as all material tested comes from the notes explained throughly in class.

    Course highlights:

Practical Application for Real World Problems A Better Knowledge of How the Calculator generates certain formulas

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Class is pretty interactive, so be prepared to pay close attention to your the notes. Attendance is key, but the professor is open to going over whatever you need especially if you work a full time job. The handouts are really helpful and close to verbatim on the test. The test are usually not more than two chapters at a time. There are opportunities for extra credit that you should definitely take advantage of for a cushion for your grade.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was an online class and was exactly the way the syllabus laid it out. Sometimes it is hard to get help timely if you work on the class at odd hours.

    Course highlights:

I understand Statistics better but I am not a math wiz so this class took some effort . I like that the class was exactly what the syllabus laid out.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't get behind! Those deadlines are no joke.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor is very knowledgeable and the assignments she gives are all relevant to the types of questions given on the test. Avram's accent may be difficult to understand to some, but the vast majority of students had no trouble understanding her. Professor Avram makes sure students fully understand the material presented and she often gives reviews that she goes over in class with students.

    Course highlights:

Through this course, I fully understand the basic, introductory level of statistics. I am able to use this information to present other findings, such as through research in my upcoming biology class or through research papers. Overall, I believe statistics is an immensely necessary mathematics course to understand because of its widespread use in media, news, and publications.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this course, students must be willing to put in extra work outside of class to complete the practice tests on her website as well as the homework she assigns. As long as students can remain on top of their assignments and keep up to date on what is being taught in class, this course should not be difficult.
