Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class to someone that is planning to pursue an Early Childhood Education degree. I unfortunately am not, so this was just an elective for me. There is a lot of preparation for future ECE classes which does not benefit me.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about children's development and how they learn and grow best. As a mother, I did benefit from this. This class also has a lot of group work, which I liked because in ECE, you have to be creative. When you have 3-4 people in a group, you have a lot of great ideas and it really makes you think.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You have to have a passion for children. Your entire coursework revolves around children. You also need to be able to have patience and motivation. This class has a minimum of 2 quizzes a week, and a lot of projects individual and group. Professor is very nice and helpful, so as long as you do your work and put forth effort, you will be successful in this course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it was a great way to learn more about how to work well with children.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed getting to observe other teachers and the different ways they taught young kids

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Get ahead of your homework. Do the observation project right when you can give plenty of time to get it done

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved taking this class, and I learned a lot. Taking this course in High School gave me a chance to save some money and learn what I really want to do after High School.

    Course highlights:

-what this field offers -what characteristics a teacher needs to have -best way to teach children (how children learn best) -History of this field -how to and why respecting cultures is important in this field -how to and why protecting children physically, mentally, and emotionally is important in this field -helping children learn -assessing children

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell future students taking this class that if they have the time work ahead. In the beginning of this class, I didn't find the time to work ahead and so I spent many week nights and weekends finishing and perfecting projects and homework for this class. Towards the end I worked a head and realized just how much I love this field and loved learning about the topics taught in this class.
