Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I not only learned a lot about US history, but I learned a lot about life. Everything was taught in a way that I could take what I learned/how I learned the material and apply it to other life situations. The structure of this class was different than any other class I've taken at West and though that made the class harder it was very beneficial looking back on it.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to read and analyze a source, which is helped for all classes. I also learned how to determine what was busy work and what was actually helpful, which is applicable to all classes. This class also taught me how to look at the big picture and break down important yet difficult material.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take this course! It helped me a lot and I would take it again if I could.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

My overall abilities as a reader, writer and thinker were improved. I can connect what I learned about U.S. history to historical patterns that I see arising today. I can synthesize events across multiple periods of time.

    Course highlights:

I have a much broader understanding the American story. The material begins in 1491 and goes to modern history, as it is unfolding. I feel that I now know how our country came to be.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

This is a course that is not easy but you shouldn't feel overwhelmed at anytime. It is a very interesting course, too. Many subjects that are studied are still relevant today.
