Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was definitely an eye opener in regards to what some specifics of the law entails. It was a good way to learn about certain rules on politics and why or why not a law could be applied to a case.

    Course highlights:

The best part was the interactive way in which the professor led the class discussions. At one point we did role playing as if in a court room for jury duty. It was a great way to better understand how jurors come to their final decision and all that they have to consider before doing so.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you have an interest in the justice system this is definitely for you. Or if you are considering a career as a counselor like me, I think the benefits of knowing more about laws will have a tremendous impact in your capability of assessing your clients.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

I would recommend this course to anyone even if this is not your interest. This course goes over basic rights that all of us in the US are entitled to.

    Course highlights:

After taking this course I now know the difference between civil justice system and criminal justice system. I also learned about the different theories that have been introduced over the years explaining the criminal behaviors.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To get a good grade and no stress over anything the biggest thing you must do is show up for class, pay attention, and take notes. Go over the notes and highlight the important details that you see especialy the theories.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Lay is one of the most enthusiastic professors I have ever met. He loves the law , and is not afraid to show it . The class is very interactive, and there were class discussions daily.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about my basic rights as a citizen, and how to handle the police in any situation. We covered a total of six chapters.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend that they read the chapters, and participate in class as Professor Lay loves to hear different points of view.
