    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It teaches you the different types of literature and while also diving you deeper into the extent of the writings of many famous authors from different eras.

    Course highlights:

It gave me a hunger to read more interesting books and a curiosity to break the book down so that I may understand it inside out.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay consistent with the readings, if not then you will not pass the class. The readings are very interesting but requires you to read everyday.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend taking this class. It is a great class to sharpen your grammar, writing, and your analysis skills. Before taking this class, be aware it is an Advanced Placement class. It does progress quicker than honors classes, and it requires a lot of dedication and good work ethic. In this class, you will be required to read novels, classics, and poetry as well as analyze them deeply. Students will also be required to expand vocabulary, write several essays, and participate in class discussions.

    Course highlights:

This course helped perfect my writing, reading, and analysis ability. It prepares students to develop the skills of college level reading and writing, so it is indeed a great preparation for college. Through this course, I learned how to write presentable and sophisticated essays, which will help students who want to pursue careers that require effective writing and communicating skills. This course also helped me appreciate literature much more, as well as understand the art and composition behind it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

This course is fast-paced and demanding. An advice I would give is to allow yourself time every day to study vocabulary and begin preparations for the AP exam in May. Although it is fast-paced, it is not impossible to accomplish. The material can be hard and frustrating at times, but the benefits are everlasting. Through this course, your writing, communication, and reading skills will be improved for sure. Do not let the material intimidate you. At first, you may not understand the concepts, everyone has a difficult time at first. However, as you start progressing through this course, you will learn more than you have ever learned in any of your English courses. I definetely recommend this class.
