    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I love this course. Although very challenging and very time demanding, it gives you a whole new perspective on the world around us and the nature of humanity, and it perfects your writing skills in the process.

    Course highlights:

In Ms. Best's class, you read four books from different literary movements. Additionally, you examine poetry and prose throughout history and learn how to interpret the universal concepts and themes behind each of these.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you love writing essays and interpreting the deeper societal commentary on prestigious works of literature, this is the class for you. If you want to succeed, you actually have to read the books. It is the only way you will be able to understand them well enough to write a deep and meaningful essay on them. Also, always pay attention to what the teacher says when discussing themes as what she says can be a big help when writing essays and doing multiple choice.
