    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend AP Gov because it makes students more aware of the country they live in and how it works. Also, current events can be integrated into the curriculum and respectful debates organized. Students essentially get to learn how to be good citizens. It also doesn't hurt that the class satisfies the government requirement for graduation and can count towards general education requirements in college.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course were the moments when the textbooks and real world aligned, gasp! Yes, there are times when those heavy books actually mean something outside of the classroom. Election years in particular are particularly advantageous to students because they demonstrate the importance of government and allow discussion in class of current events. I learned that government has a profound effect on lives of everyone in the United States and that all students should be equipped with the proper knowledge to actively participate in the process.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students to not just go to class, but to also be a part of the class. There is just too much relevant information to passively approach a course like AP Gov. Students will one day vote, hold politicians accountable, work for the government, and even be the government in some cases (nod to aspiring politicians). Students are essentially getting a couse on their adult lives, so they should be prepared to take advantage of such a unique opportunity.
