Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The teacher is very descriptive in the class and the labs are always interesting

    Course highlights:

The hands on labs. Each experiment taught us new and useful things with cool equipment in ways it was easy to understand and master.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Have good time management, its easy to get behind and almost impossible to catch back up. But if you stay on top of your work, everything will be fine.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Smeltz is a fantastic teacher, she really helps slow down the lesson and truly teach it, instead of just lecture it. The course itself is extremely helpful, but calls for quality effort.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course were definitely applying things from lecture to the lab, such as the calorimeter lab and learning how to calculate heat gain and loss. The concept in lecture can be slightly confusing, but applying it to lab allows for a better understanding of the equations and how they work.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

AP Chemistry in high school was a HUGE help. Many of the students who hadn't taken that course in high school struggled a little in General Chem, but if you really put in the work, and you visit your professor or GSA during office hours, it helps and it pays off in the end.
