    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

A lot of times, it is easy for students to jump into the excitement of college and go further into calculus 2 or higher math courses , but fundamentals are really necessary. Precalculus helped to remind me of a lot of things I had long done, which served a very good foundation for my calculus 1, 2 and beyond.

    Course highlights:

I learn basic trigonometry, graphing, slopes and tangents of lines

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be humble and dedicated to learn. Most of the things we feel we know, we could actually do better if we took more time to go over them.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I liked the course even though I'm not that big a fan of pure mathematics.

    Course highlights:

I learnt all the basic things required to progress into calculus 1

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice ahead of the class or you might get lost.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

When you tell someone that you are in a precalculus class, the first thought that comes to he/she's mind is that you're not a smart student. Well it's normal to think that way, owing to the fact that most students should have done precalculus in high school. I had always been a very smart student with excellent grades but coming from Nigeria , things looked a little bit different especially in maths. I was not sure how I would fare if I was put straight into the calculus class, I knew I could make it but I needed an excellent start. The fear of being looked at as a student who is not bright curled up in my head but then I knew that I had to be great for myself and not for anyone. I went into the precalculus class and with such an awesome teacher like Jim Jones, I saw so much that I never understood but just knew how to solve . I learnt the applications so much that I would use them in my daily life. I finished with an over all grade of 98.5, having over a 100% in most of my quizzes and tests. I was finally living the dream of studying and being in school to know and not just to pass. Being in calculus 1 class was very easy. A lot of times the teacher had to go over things from precalculus but then I just have a wide grin because I never forgot those things from precalculus. Maths was smoother than ever . To a lot of students out there , being in a precalculus class in college is not as bad as you think, rather it may just be the right push you need to start off your math journey in college.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were how everything was connected in maths. I saw how formulas I had know from physics and other subject came to play in a more applied way. Graphs also served as a highlight for me as even in higher math courses , that basic knowledge of being able to draw graphs from their equations is very essential.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

My advise to is do not be afraid to start from basics. Do not be afraid to get a chance to review what you already knew . Do not also be scared of it delaying your graduation time. To a lot of students out there , being in a precalculus class in college is not as bad as you think, rather it may just be the right push you need to start off your math journey in college.
