    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was a challenging course and that's exactly what I expected going in. We got plenty of homework and were tested on a regular basis. But unlike in many other courses where I perceived the homework as irrelevant, I found the assigned work in this class intellectually stimulating and thought it provided vital insight on real world applications.

    Course highlights:

The course required being able to visualize concepts and to observe everyday mechanisms that we take for granted. I also enjoyed how the homework challenged to learn different aspects of software applications such as matlab and Creo parametric.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Just dive into it and embrace the challenge of the course. It may not seem worth it initially but it definitely is in the long. Also, let your creative side take over and be more relaxed in your approach.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is very intellectually stimulating. While Dr. Larochelle is a tough grader, he gives very interesting lectures. I highly recommend buying/renting the textbook and bringing it to class with you, because he teaches straight out of it.

    Course highlights:

This course gave me a very strong background in the general mechanics of machinery, which can be applied to numerous topics.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely get the textbook, and find a study group early on. The homeworks are definitely better to do in groups, and the professor actually encourages it. Same with studying for exams.
