Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Olmstead is a very knowledgeable professor who has done a lot of work in industry and as such offers lots of practical advice which is extremely useful. Electro Optics is his thing, and what this course is about, but the important stuff are his take away from what you will expect in the real world as an engineer.

    Course highlights:

The course project was to write and submit a mock SBIR proposal. This is a proposal to a topic outlined by different departments of the US government (NSF, DARPA, DoD, NIH) for which these agencies are willing to give money to small businesses. Doing this project made me consider creating my own start up and the final result felt like being on Shark Tank.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Start work early. You will go weeks without work, but when you have it you should start early on it. Its mostly dry, but when it rains it pours.
