    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Roopchand is an excellent teacher that overprepares you for the AP exam. He has over a 90% pass rate and really cares about his students. He demands respect for his class.

    Course highlights:

You learn everything in this course from developmental psychology to research methods to social psychology. Social psychology at the end of the year is definitely one of the most interesting.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read AS SOON, if not before the chapter is assigned. Expect pop quizzes after you're assigned material. Just manage your time and you'll be fine. ALWAYS show effort, ask questions about projects before hand. When AP season comes, do FRQs and have him grade them.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Psychology is such an intriguing course. It's basically a map into how people think, feel, and act. Throughout the course as you identify what makes your brain happy and how humans go through different stages of grief you can apply it to yourself or even your family to better understand yourself or them.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was learning about Sigmund Freud and his theory that the unconscious mind determines behavior much more than the people consider. It made me realize that in our dreams we unconsciously dream about our fears, goals, and hopes. His theory basically rationalizes that dreams should be taken note of because they give u a glimpse into your subconscious.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you study and review the text. Psychology contains a lot of definitions and important people and in order to understand the questions you must know what the terms mean and in what way do the important people relate to certain terms.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is very interesting! You learn about the world around you physically and mentally. This class allows you to slow down and take a break from going through the motions in life and really stop and observe. Even though I struggled a little in the class, I was so motivated to pass because Mr. Roopchand pushed me and showed me that I have the potential to be great. He truly is an amazing teacher.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed the deep conversations we had in this class. we are able to make our own opinions and share our thoughts. I also really liked the projects such as conditioning (training) friends and family without them knowing, analyzing our dreams, and making a personality mask. Studying for the tests were pretty intense, but it felt so good to be able to obtain and recall so much interesting information! overall, it was a great experience.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I'm warning you that there is a lot of reading you will have to do. And the tests are pretty tough. But the best advice that i can give you is to not give up! If you put in the effort, you really can pass the AP Psychology exam! I can recall so many talks Mr. Roopchand had with me, telling me I didn't have much a chance at passing, but that motivated me to study my butt off which led me to pass with a 4! You can do it!
