Course Overview:
Ms. Jordan was a very good teacher. However, I do not feel as if many of the lessons taught in algebra can actually apply to real life scenarios.
Course highlights:
There are certain lessons that I found very useful regarding Algebra. For instance, I have found that balancing equations and finding the value of the variable are two very important lessons because people will use them when calculating with money.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
If you want to take this course, you need to stidy from the beginning to keep your mind constantly refreshed with the material. Do not fool around in the class because you will fall behind if you miss the fundementals.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
I feel like algebra does not apply much to a real life scenario. Instead of taking more advanced courses of math as a necessity, we should be forced to take classes like computer science, engineering, LEEO, debate etc. These classes will benefit us for the future because they apply to real world scenarios.
Course highlights:
I did not gain much and I did not remember much from this course but one thing that I thought was very vital to our future from this course was balancing equations and finding the value of a variable. I believe that both of these concepts are very essential to you in the real world because they involve very basic math from which you could do calculations with involving miney.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
If you are considering taking this course, please start studying and memorizing everything since the beginning. Math is like a building composed of many bricks and if you decide to sleep or day dream in one of the classe it is as if you are taking a brick off of the foundation. This then causes your foundation to get weaker and more fragile. If you keep on slacking off, the structure will eventually collapse.
