Course Overview:
Mrs. Blum taught a college Precalculus course which condensed our textbook (assigned by Duthess Community College) into easily understood notes.
Course highlights:
Watching Mrs. Blum derive the quadratic formula before the entire class will always stick with me. Seeing such a complicated equation worked out through such simple steps gave me a new appreciation for mathematics.
Hours per week:
0-2 hours
Advice for students:
Do all the homework, and look up any concepts you find yourself trying to work out alone. The sooner you study a new resource, the sooner you'll comprehend.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
This class was definitely the most challenging class that I took at Carmel. For someone like me who doesn't have a "math brain" at all it was very challenging. Some chapters were harder than others but overall it was very hard.
Course highlights:
I thought that some of the math was fun and with the good teaching that my teacher did I was able to understand certain parts of it.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
I would definitely pay attention a lot in class. That is very important, also make sure that you devote time to pre calc every night and use SRT wisely to meet with your teacher.
