    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Butler is one of the smartest and most devoted teachers at Hartnell. He is so willing to help and really cares about how you do in his class

    Course highlights:

I loved Mr. Butler because in the beginning of the semester he will ask you your major and through out the semester he will try to apply what we are learning to the different majors of the student. I learned a lot, especially since I had a bad trig teacher.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework, the homework questions show up on the tests

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Butler very much cares about his students understanding and, most importantly, retaining the information at hand. He made the course a lot of fun and, may be hard to believe, made math fun in general!

    Course highlights:

To me, I especially found the differential equations portion of the course to be my favorite. Professor Butler explained it in such a way that clicked in my head all the way through. I see diff. eq. problems not as dreadful problems I have to solve, but a little puzzle waiting to be put together!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The key to success in this class is to do ALL of the assignments. None of them are graded, but it is expected that you complete them anyways. The assignments given are carefully chosen so that they will prepare you for the midterms and, eventually, the final.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Calculus 2 is so fascinating and has a lot of real world applications. Butler is an amazing teacher and is truly excited about math. He explains the material many different ways so that all students can understand. He is one of the easiest teachers to talk to, and is always down to help.

    Course highlights:

Learning how to apply certain math procedures with real life job situations. Butler made it a point to show us why we had to learn what we learned.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be afraid of the material, don't be afraid to fail, and don't be afraid to ask questions! With practice and hard work you can learn and understand so much!
