    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for anyone with interest in the human body. Even if you don't have a health field major, it is helpful and applicable to learn the science behind our bodies.

    Course highlights:

I expanded my knowledge about the skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, and many more aspects of the body. The highlights of this course was seeing how all the hard work and studying paid off and knowing I earned the grade that I was given.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this course, you do need to put in the work to get the results you desire. It requires extensive amounts of studying but the reward of thoroughly knowing the material and being able to recall it later is the most satisfying aspect.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I really enjoyed this class and Martie was a fantastic teacher! If you are looking to achieve a career in the health field, definitely sign up for human anatomy and physiology! If you attend Hawkeye, be sure to sign up for a class taught by Martie, she is an excellent teacher who is devoted to her students! Martie also uses packets for note-taking, so you can fill in the blanks as you go along with her PowerPoint. It's kind of a different way to keep you alert and engaged in what she is teaching.

    Course highlights:

I learned a significant amount of material in this course. Especially since it is a human anatomy class, the class was very informative and also very fun to attend. The highlight of this course was definitely the labs that went with the lecture. The labs were hands on which really allows you to fully understand the material outside of lecture. Martie is very creative with her labs, each week the labs are different and connect well with what she is teaching during lecture as well.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Students should know how to manage their time as this class requires a lot of studying. Martie offers extra credit towards the end of the semester to help if you didn't do so well on a few tests, but I would be sure to do my best and study as much as I could to prepare for the tests so I wouldn't have to rely on the extra credit. Make sure you attend every class as each class is full of information needed to prepare for the test.

    Advice for students:

Study, study, study. Learn a good study habit and stick with it for this class, because it will pay off in your final grade!
