Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would only recommend this course if you really enjoy and understand the idea of Spanish. It is no walk in the park, but Ms. Verwiel is always willing to help. Getting a high grade in the class is pretty easy, just make sure you actually take the time to learn the information for the AP Test.

    Course highlights:

Ms. Verwiel believes in speaking Spanish majority of the time. However, should you need help in English or even for her to slow down, she will gladly help. Vocabulary is crucial because of all the Spanish conversation. In my opinion, listening to Spanish was always the hardest because of the different pronunciations in different cultures. It is definitely worth the extra practice time in listening. Sometimes it is easy to develop a relaxed attitude due to the relaxed and understanding nature of Ms. Verwiel, but it is better to just stay on top of your work and learning.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be afraid to ask for help, whether it is from Ms. Verwiel or your peers. It can sometimes feel really embarrassing, but it's important to remember you are all in it together. Watching movies in Spanish with English subtitles and movies in English with Spanish subtitles is very beneficial, especially if it a movie you enjoy.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you have an interest for Spanish outside of the high school requirements I recommend it. Mrs. Verwiel is a very awesome and nice teacher. She will teach you everything you need to now and more and you'll have fun along the way.

    Course highlights:

The highlight were definitely the small class, only 6 people. And being in that class opened up an understanding of the world that i did not have before. Also the friends I made were really cool and we had a lot of fun together even during the ap exam.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are not serious about Spanish don't take this course. It is not a walk in the park. The whole textbook is in Spanish and you do everything in Spanish. You also write a lot of essays. However make sure you know your Spanish vocabulary it will come in handy. And make the effort to do the work and study Spanish.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course to anyone who is looking to learn a new culture. If you are not comfortable speaking another language with other people, I do not recommend this class.

    Course highlights:

Learning the language is only the beginning. The language is a step to learning more about the culture, history, and current events. It's the closest you can get to an out-of-class experience inside a class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Try your best to learn how to comprehend the language. If you can learn the language, the culture and history will come easier.
