    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because if you hate reading, but want to learn to love it, this is the class for you! You read about six books of all different types of genres. You cannot possible leave the class without liking at least one of the books. So many kids who walked in had only read maybe two books over a period of several years and they left the class with a list of ten books minimum that they wanted to read. Students were able to figure out that they did like reading. They just had to figure out what they enjoyed reading about.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the in class discussions because students had the chance to voice and debate their opinions on the books, getting to pick your own independent novel at the end of the semester and talk about it to your classmates, and learning how many more genres of books you enjoyed without even realizing you enjoyed them in the first place. I learned that I really enjoy certain suspense and fantasy novels even though I had labeled myself as hating them. Little did I know that I had cut myself off from them too early not allowing myself to find the ones I did love.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

You need to read the assigned pages of the book you're reading in class every night in order to do well. Do not procrastinate and decide to read the entire boom the night before the test because you will fail. Enjoy reading as a homework assignment because how many times have you just had to read in order to succeed?
