Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Such a great class & professor. Not only learned so much-- but truly enjoyed the course!

    Course highlights:

Poetry- spend two weeks writing one poem a day, Non-fiction creative writing based on personal life and fiction creative writing based on your imagination. Not only this but you're put into writing groups in which you learn so much from your peers.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the work, work with your writing groups and let Rob give you advice! He is so smart and creative, it's really worth your time to put in and you will get so much out of the course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Rob is an incredible professor- he is so helpful so don't be afraid to talk to him about your work. He is funny and engaging, never a dull moment in this class.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much about creative writing- poetry, fiction and non-fiction. For two weeks we wrote a poem a day and I learned so much about how to find inspiration when I feel like I have none. For fiction stories I learned the importance of not writing a cliche; this is important in all writing but especially fiction stories so they are not boring!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read what he says to read, it will most definitely improve your writing and give you techniques to think about as you put words on a page.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

In this course, you will be exposed to a variety of types of creative writing: poetry, prose, short story. Heather Sellers is an amazing professor that teaches you techniques to relax and focus in order to do your best writing. She teaches you to stop thinking and start writing. She gives you a lot of different strategies to help you get in to the writing mode.

    Course highlights:

Spiraling and writing in all capital letters (to help me slow down and let a good story come to me). Heather's spunky and encouraging personality!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to write! Good writing takes time and focus. You can't produce a good piece of writing at midnight the night before it is due.
