Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in US history and wants to learn a little bit more background knowledge behind it so that they can have a head start in pursuing more information about the history of our country. The class can also help prepare you for other AP classes that the school provides

    Course highlights:

I learned more about certain time periods such as the Cold War era along with learning about certain concepts such as trickle down economics which helped me get more of an understanding about certain debates that we have held in this country.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You don't necessarily have to read the book in order to get notes. I literally just watched Adam Smith and Jocz Productions on youtube and got all my notes there. It takes a lot less time and they get right to the point and give you sample writing prompts to work on to help you practice.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I learned an incredible amount in Mr. Kaminski's class, and my grasp of U.S. History, as a result, has helped me in other classes, lending historical context to several questions and essays I've written.

    Course highlights:

Along with a very detailed overview of American History, I also learned how the different periods of history are linked to eachother.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep on top of the material and the homework. And make sure you know how everything connects. In the end, that will be more important than names and dates - although be sure you know at least a little bit of those, as well.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is a good benchmark for future AP classes. The rather large work load compared to other classes will help you develop an idea of what your current work ethic can accomplish in college level courses and help in determining what areas you need to improve on to be more successful during the remainder of high school.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the class is the debates. In my experience with the class we occasionally had debates to help us understand the positions of important historical figures and it was entertaining as well as insightful.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure to come to class with notes and be ready to pay attention. If you come unprepared you'll fall behind.
