Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because I got so much experience in the medical field. I got a taste of what I might actually be heading too! It was so much fun and I learn so much!

    Course highlights:

Oh goodness! I learned so much! I learned some of the ins and outs of the hospital. I learned procedures of doctors and nurses. I learn protocol of hospital in situations I never though could happen. Most of all, I learn how many great people there still are in this world.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This course is very independent so I would say stay on top of your course work. Don't get behind. Try to stay ahead. Live, learn, and gain from your opportunities that are give to you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would most definitely recommend this course. I was able to follow a pediatrician which is my dream job.

    Course highlights:

I had three main highlights. Being able to follow a doctor in a career that I aspire to be in was a dream come true. The second highlight was being able to step inside of a hospital that allowed me to get a hospital work environment feel. My last highlight would be having the experience to work with patients in a hospital setting while I am still in high school. I learning so many medical terms and steps to procedures. I learned so much that i can keep in my memory forever.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell them to take this course. This course helps students to go more in depth into a health care career that they want to be in. It helps students learn whether their career is worth going long term for and if they will enjoy their aspired career.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you haven't completely decided on whether the medical field is a direction in which you might pursue, then this class can help you make that decision. You are able to gain first hand sight of what the medical field looks like, ether than basing it off of Grey's Anatomy or Chicago Med. You also get opportunities to use medical skills such as performing vitals, making beds, transporting patients, etc. Also the more you rotate the more you get to know the staff and you become apart of their family, and the hospital becomes a place of belonging for you.

    Course highlights:

This course has shed so much insight to the direction I want to go. I always knew that I wanted to go into the medical field, but I never knew exactly what part. This class has showed me that I do not want to be a nurse or a nurse practitioner, but that I'd rather go and get my MD or continue into research.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Participate. This class is an application based class, so when taking the pre-req's for this class, HST 1, make sure to be active in the class. Also take it seriously, when you're in the hospitals and talking with the physicians they don't dumb it down that much for you just because you're a student. If you take HST1 seriously, then you'll actually know what's going on and makes more hands on rotation for you.
