    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course was very entertaining and covered a large amount of concepts. It is fun but also requires a lot of reading and studying. it Isn't a class one can do without going home each night and reviewing. I enjoyed it and had a magnificent time learning the material for the class. I would recommend this course because it honestly gives you a deeper understanding of the world we live in today. it also opens the mind up so that we understand that America is not the only place in the world. Before taking the course, I didn't really think about other countries that much because I was in tune with what was going on around me, only using the local news as a source of information. After the class, I was more involved in world issues and not only what was going on in America. It is interesting because this class changed my perception of the world. It was a fun class with an intriguing curriculum to learn and amazing material to study. Another reason I would recommend this course is because it helped me understand the world and the expansion of it more in depth than the on level or honors World history class would.

    Course highlights:

I learned in great capacity about different cultures and parts of the world. We learned about the creation and expansion of different people and how they explored and made a living using the resources. We also learned about social organizations and modes of production. My highlight was coming in one day and seeing my name on the board. When a student's name appeared on the board, this meant they scored one of the highest grades out of the class. I remember taking a picture and sending it to my mother because she knew that the class was a tough one!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Reading your text book every night is an integral component in order to have a successful year. The information that was taught in class must be reinforced once you get home. I found that even just 2 pages a night will help you succeed. Also read ahead so that you are on your game. You may think that it is doing extra and not necessary to complete this step, but 9 times out of 10 reading ahead is not advancing yourself, but instead staying on track with other students: This is an AP course, therefore, the students in the class know what it takes to succeed. So by only reading what you're supposed to will actually get you behind. I learned this the hard way, but once I found out, I saw great improvement in my performance as a whole in the class. Also, try to meet someone in class so that you may become study buddies with them. People have different strategies and ways to remember things that could help you. This also helps build bonds with new people in the class and that are learning at a higher level with you. This was something I did that really helped me through the course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was extremely difficult and required a lot of outside studying and work, but the study and time management skills developed are invaluable. Even if you do not achieve your desired grade, you come out a better student prepared to balance academics, stress, and your social life.

    Course highlights:

The best part about this course is the teacher. He assigns fun projects and tries to engage students the best he can. You learn how to take better notes and manage your time well.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate. You must stay on top of the reading and worksheets to keep up with the course. Also, do not stress if you can't do it all. Sometimes all the work and stress is not worth it, so remember to take breaks between studying and to get as much sleep as possible.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course if you enjoy social studies and you are willing to work really hard at the course. If you are not willing to work hard than I would not recommend this course because of its difficulty.

    Course highlights:

I learned to have a really good work ethic and that in college I would not be able to get away with what i usually did which was not study and just pay attention in class. A lot of the information in this course needs to be learned through reading the text book on your own rather than it being given to you by the teacher.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

My number one advice for this class is to read the text book. Also while you are reading the textbook it is super helpful to also take notes on the chapter you are reading so that when you need to study for the test you have something to look back on to review. I also found that it helped if you use the study tools that are on the website for the textbook.
