Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

In high school you tend to "void-out" classes that you assume won't help in adult life, unfortunately a lot of History and English classes are the end result of this void. I'm here to say English is one of those classes that will definitely help out throughout high school. More specifically AP Language and Composition, this is due in part to it being real life applicable, not only does AP Language teach you to stand out in your writing but it'll help with addressing the main points in your papers in-turn making them easier to read. Overall AP Language is an excellent class that helps students sufficiently prepare for college and real world writing.

    Course highlights:

As mentioned previously, AP Language and Composition gifts students with a variety of skills. I personally found arguments and how to properly voice your opinion one of the most useful skills. AP Lang. really helped me to not only properly pick a side of an argument but learn to defend that with clear and concise evidence.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Taking notes and asking your teacher for help when you need it! Teachers are always glad to help out a confused student and trust me, you will get confused on certain parts. Make sure to study and keep up with the reading, when you follow all of that, it's nothing but success.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it really tests your linguistic and interpretation abilities. I was able to grow as a reader, a writer, and a thinker because of this course. This course prepared me especially for AP literature.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were being able to track and find specific examples of my growth in this subject. We had to do reading journal conferences where we analyzed our work from the beginning of the semester to the end and see where we improved. It gave me validation of how I had improved my abilities in this area.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Always put your best effort forth. It will be worth it. If you do not, you will not be able to grow as much as you can as a critical reader, writer, and more

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course because it forces you to pay attention to details in reading which turns into a habit after doing it so much.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course would have to be how my writing skills have improved. I learned though how every word used in a writing piece has some significant meaning.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Time management is key in this course because it is very important to plan out your homework and time wisely so you are not staying up or trying to finish anything last minute.
