    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is an interesting course because you learn about the history of our country. The course goes in depth of how the U.S. was formed and the struggles endured in order to keep it intact. Throughout this course you truly see how the U.S. has evolved into a better nation and the past mistakes that were made that can help us not repeat them. It is rigorous but definitely worth it in the end when you pass the AP exam and have a well educated opinion on our nation.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the wars fought such as world war 2. I learned how the U.S. was no better than its counterparts. The U.S. had internment camps were they imprisoned American Japanese in suspicion of them leaking sensitive information and for simply being Japanese even though some we're citizens who were born in the U.S. and did nothing wrong. I also learned the dirty tricks in politics such as political bosses such as Boss Tweed who bought off his votes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read all the chapters and write cornell notes for each unit. Videos on youtube ( Adam Noris! ) can really help with confusing topics. Suggest to your teacher to do weekly socratic seminars so the whole class can share their views and argue with facts to back it up.
