Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Though this course was a requirement for my major, I loved it. This course forced it's students to have an understanding of the material. Many students did not fancy it due to the fact it was unlike traditional lectures; for you had to watch videos, go to clicker and workshop sessions, but when going on to Organic Chemistry, they saw how they had taken GenChem for granted. I would highly recommend this ccourse to anyone, for it is not hard, there are many ways to bring up your grade through extra credit assignments.

    Course highlights:

Though many students did not like that we had to watch videos as a way to get some form of lecture, I loved that I could pause and repeat as many times as I felt needed in order to understand everthing she was trying to bring across. There are about four to six videos per topic, each video being about eight minutes long, the maximum being about ten or twelve minutes, but they were not boring. Clicker and workshop sessions are centered around a lot of practice; for every time we met, all we did were practice problems, which is the only way to excel in such a class. She encouraged us to help one another out, if our peers did not know the answer, we would assist them in gainging it. This course taught me how to apply myself to my studies.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In order not to be lossed during clicker and workshop session, make sure to have watched the videos at least once. If things are a bit unclear, do not hesitate to ask Prof. McGregor, or her TA's, for they are approachable and very helpful.
