    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was a required class for Psychology majors, but this professor put the content of the course across very well. Most students were terrified to take this class, as was I, but by the end I was so glad I took this intense course over the summer with this particular professor.

    Course highlights:

Writing about the case studies and applying statistical methods.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Refresh your notes on Statistics (PSY 166) before taking Experimental Psychology.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Experimental Psychology is one of the most dreaded classes for Psychology majors; however, it turned out to be one of my favorites. Yes, it was difficult, but I expected it to be. I thought the professor presented the material in a manner that made me relate to the information.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to interpret and disseminate results. There were many pop quizzes, so knowing that, I prepared in advance by studying the material. I really enjoyed learning about positive and negative correlations in terms of statistics.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Try not to miss class because you'll feel you can't keep up. Yes, it's a required course for Psychology majors, but it's also interesting. Statistics is a prerequisite for this course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's a required course, but informative. Studying cases is very interesting and what psychological data is all about.

    Course highlights:

Conducting actual social experiments was like having hands on experience. I loved learning about correlations (positive, negative). Professor Grizzel made things simple to understand even though the work load was high. There were several pop quizzes, but it made me prepared for each class by reviewing my notes and text book.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

While Experimental Psychology is a difficult course, don't be intimidated! I took it over the summer, so it meant four nights a week of class, but in a way it was better, as the material was fresh in my brain from the night before. I ended up learning a great deal.
