    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Professor Karshner is an absolute star. She really believes in her students and takes an interest in not only their work, but in them as people. She'll ask you about your hobbies, about books, learn the names of your dogs and/or kids. And she genuinely loves creative writing. She'll sometimes share a poem she wrote (or a plate of brownies she made) and will always compliment your work. And don't worry about the poetry portion if that's not your thing. She'll make it super easy for you. Hands down, my favorite class over the past three years at LCCC.

    Course highlights:

Prof. Karshner doesn't care if you can't write. She'll tell you how to improve, sure, but she's never cruel and doesn't seek to embarrass anyone. And she tells great stories.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework. You're graded on completion and participation, and you can't participate if you didn't do the homework. Usually its fun and easy.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class helped me get in touch with my creative side and become more open-minded.

    Course highlights:

As soon as we were done with poetry, we all got to write and share a short story using our own style and characters. It was fun! I discovered that I am a good writer.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not be afraid to speak out and ask questions. Be sure to pay attention and seek out the instructor if your still unsure about something.
