    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Sterk is a very strict teacher and a stickler for perfection; however, if you commit to the course material in your speeches, you will pass his class with flying colors and become his friend.

    Course highlights:

You learn how to give narrative, informal, persuasive and research based speeches all of which are at or exceed seven minutes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest that a future student makes a point of reading all of Professor Sterk's online course material and integrating what they learn into their speeches in an organized manner.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it helps you learn effective ways to write speeches and learn tips on public speaking. It is beneficial beyond the semester of taking the course.

    Course highlights:

The professor helped the class with their concerns regarding public speaking and gave tips, such as breathing techniques and imagining success. We learned how to capture an audience's attention and engage their emotions when giving a speech.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes on the slides and about the requirements of the speeches. Follow the guidelines of the successful speeches, and keep up with due dates and test dates.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This was a very chill course where we learned a lot about public speaking. I feel it has helped me with my confidence in my public speaking abilities.

    Course highlights:

Prof. Aydin taught us a lot about aspects of public speaking I'd never thought of before. We had great class discussions and I also learned a lot from the topics my classmates presented.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take good notes and pat attention during lectures. Also make sure to time and practice your speeches, and choose a topic you care about so that you covet passion for the subject.
