Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because the professor is very kind and always listens to emails/is willing to talk with you during her office hours, provides students with online videos and resources to help us understand the material, and allows us to do test corrections for both the multiple choice and free response parts of our tests. She grades our labs very easily, and all the lab work is very beneficial and helpful when studying the material. Notes are optional for almost every chapter, however we have to answer textbook questions and finish online assignments for every chapter which are very tedious and hard to do without looking up the answers.

    Course highlights:

Throughout this class, I studied cell respiration, fruit fly behavior, meiosis and mitosis, and ecological principles that affect different ecosystems. Our labs included studying germination in both germinating and nongerminating seeds, counting how many cells undergo each phase of the cell cycle, and observing whether fruit flies are more affected by light, smell or gravity.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

When considering this course, I would warn students not to procrastinate because online assignments and textbook questions are due every Friday, and to always study the multiple choice questions that are on the class powerpoints because those are always on the test.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Sundstrom was always going the extra mile in helping me understand all of the concepts and making sure we were all on track for the AP test. The course is also something that I am interested in, since I am planning to be a nurse. The activities and labs we did during the year also reinforced everything that I learned in that unit. If one is only interested in the course for a grade bump, I would not recommend it since it is rigorous. There are a lot of detailed websites and videos available for one to succeed in the course.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of taking this course were the hands-on labs and being in a class that excited me everyday. There really was not a boring day, everyday was full of learning and fun. Although sometimes the topics were overwhelming and hard to comprehend, once I got it, everything clicked. The labs we did was a way for me to visualize everything that we were learning. I learned everything necessary to pass the AP exam and more. By the time AP testing came around, I knew I was prepared for the test.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you were to take this class, please take it seriously. The course is tough, but if you utilize all of the resources available to you, you will be able to pass. This is not a course that you can pass without studying, if you put in the effort, you will be rewarded with a good grade. If you do not understand something ask, the people around you will not hate you for trying. Use quizlet, Bozeman videos, and look at College Board's practice questions. Do not skip the reading because it is boring, because it will help you more than you will know. If you are assigned homework, you should do it, it will give you practice to understand the unit. Your teachers are really there to help you, do not float through the year confused, because it is not impossible to past the class.
