    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I didn't see the option for it, but this class was actually an AP course, and it lasted for the whole year.

    Course highlights:

Mr. O' Conner made the material simple and memorable, overall proving to be an effective teaching strategy. In this class I learned about things such as secondary dominants, ways to help with sight reading, and how chord progressions should flow through a piece of music in the best possible way. I highly recommend taking this class, as it is important for anyone who wants a career in music to know how elements of the subject fir together and work with each other. Also, for music majors, it's a required class, so I would suggest that if you don't like the idea of takingait, you get used to it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice makes perfect. The material can't be learned if you don't put it into practice.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It requires a unique effort, that I believe each of my peers should experience. I've learned so much about commitment, understanding people who don't look like me or think like me.

    Course highlights:

I learned to be fluid, to trust my instincts and not be afraid to shine. I learned that great people before fell down a few times in pursuit of their dreams, they just got back up and trying.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

An open mind, an ability to research and faith in your abilities to do things you haven't done before.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Martin has been a teacher at DA since the school opened as an Arts School. He's a great teacher. I have to warn you though, he has a really big ego. What I mean is he can be mean and gruff at times while teaching class. He's not mad, its showing that he is very focused at wants everyone to succeed. Listen to him and he can be a really fun teacher when you get used to him.

    Course highlights:

This course was fun! Mr Martin gives us fun ways to learn music theory with tips that he has been using at his own strategy. I learned that music theory is all about learning notes and how to read music.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Remember, always listen to Mr. Martin! He's a good teacher! You will enjoy him a lot!
