Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course allows you to think outside of the box and it opens up doors to group discussions about things you have never taken the time to go into.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning how to really read a poem and find its true meaning

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Never miss a class and always ask question when you need it.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I wouldn't recommend this class because the work load was very heavy. I don't have a problem with being assigned a lot of homework, when it's reasonable. But when I'm sacrificing time I could be spending on work for other classes, and I'm awake all night working on assignments for a single class, that's where I draw the line and really reconsider whether the class is worth it or not. This course alone was extremely demanding and required a lot of time to complete assignments. I feel like I didn't learn new information or strategies that I hadn't already learned in previous years, taking less demanding courses. This year I took AP Literature and Composition which is a course beyond AP Lang, and it was far less demanding, but I feel I learned more and benefitted far more than I did in AP Lang. In all, I wouldn't recommend taking AP Lang unless your high school or college requires it.

    Course highlights:

I learned that analyzing books is beneficial to understanding and comprehending them, information that I already knew but was repeatidly reminded of through tedious annotations and a plethora of wasted sticky notes.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be pro-active and dilligent when taking AP Lang. Also, you are going to have a very heavy courseload, so make sure to manage your time well.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's a tough class but very rewarding. I learned a LOT, and definitely grew as a writer.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write a collegiate thesis/research paper. I also gained a lot of global knowledge from memorizing hundreds of historical figures and stories. The course involves reading multiple books, as well - all of which I thoroughly enjoyed.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Doing all the work is very, VERY important (that includes reading every page of every book, as well). The reading and vocabulary quizzes are very thorough, and can be very intimidating. When you go into this class, I highly suggest you develop legitimate methods of coping with your stress that work well for you.
