    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

In this class you go farther than AP Paychology. You focus on the studies involved in the theories of psychology. You learn a lot more and start to apply the knowledge you gain to small things you see in everyday life, giving a psychological explanation.

    Course highlights:

In this course you gain a thorough understanding of the evidence and origin of psychological concepts.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be thorough in your evaluation of the studies. Also be try to memorize studies that account for multiple learning outcomes.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it allows students to study psychology in a more objective light, and helps to further their critical thinking skills. The course focuses on a few of psychology's many perspectives, allowing students to study them in depth and draw conclusions about each. Lastly, the lessons learned from studying this course can be applied to other disciplines as well. It also helps if you take an AP Psychology course prior to this taking this course, but it's not required and it won't be a hindrance to you.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this course was learning about certain behaviors and how they have no specific cause, but they are rather due to a combination of several factors across perspectives. My favorite perspective is the biological perspective because it looks at how the body is responsible for certain behaviors, for example, how the hippocampus affects memory, or how the hormone melatonin regulates sleep. This course definitely helped me to appreciate the intricacies of the brain and its many parts, and how it plays integral role in psychology.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be as organized as possible and study a little each day. It makes test days easier since the exams are all written and require a lot from memory. Also, don't be afraid to approach the problems in the course in a way that feels right to you, the course is all about perspectives and how they influence behavior, your idea may not be as bad as you think.
