Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Shea is a great professor who really takes the time to go over the material very thoroughly and is easy to follow.

    Course highlights:

This was my second time taking the course and having Dr. Shea and the TAs be thorough with all of the material was very helpful. It actually gets to be fun when you solve the problems and understand what's going on.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study a little bit every day. Even if it's just 30 mins to an hour. Not falling behind is key, and making organized note packets helps so you can look back at older subjects to review something quickly if you need a refresher. Also don't be shy about bringing your molecular model kits to exams! He allows them but not many people take advantage of this; it helps quite a bit when you're trying to visualize a model and the clock is ticking.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Dong likes to get the students involved in the class lectures so she put up problems much like the ones she puts on her exams and she'll have students work them out together and ask students to come up to the front to show their work. It helps a lot.

    Course highlights:

This is the first course of the year long series of Organic Chemistry so we start with a general chem review. Then we move into Functional Groups and Stereo-chemistry.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Focus during her lectures. If you do, you really won't have much to study.
