    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Brendan Shapiro is probably one of the best and most insightful writing seminar leaders in the course. He will take time for you to make sure you succeed in the essays and understand the material so you can apply it to your writing. His course is laid back, but informational. At the end of the day, you would have found at least one new way to look at the material, so long as you have an open mind.

    Course highlights:

Definitely the capstone final report. The creative liberties are endless. Like I said in the short answer, I did mine on zombies! Funny enough, Shapiro was also a zombie enthusiast himself, so helping me out with the paper was fun with him.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the material beforehand. Attend the writing seminars because whatever you didn't understand in class, the seminar leader will go over them with you.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend the professor, but not humanities core itself. The regular writing class would be much easier.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the role of agency, memorialization, and artifactualization in war.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to do some of the readings at least, so you will not be super stressed when studying for finals... like I was. Go to office hours for essays too!
