This class was tough.
Professor Massimelli is one of those rare professors who instills a love and easy understanding of the subject through her passion and love for teaching. Biochemistry quite literally went from being the most difficult and boring subject of my undergraduate experience to being my most loved subject. In fact, the following quarter I decided to tutor for the subject because of my newly developed interest.
Beyond learning about basic biochemistry, I learned scientific writing skills, critical analysis skills, important lab techniques, and organization skills that I was able to translate to other courses.

Advice for students:
This course is very difficult, but going to office hours and showing Professor Massimelli that you care and that you are willing to put in the effort makes all the difference. She really cares about teaching and about helping you succeed so take advantage of her help!
