This class was tough.
I am in the middle of whether or not I would recommend this course. If you are looking to merely fulfill a GE requirement, do not take this course because it is among one of the harder GE classes. However, if this class pertains to your desired major or you are interested in the Intelligence of Arts, then you should definitely take this class because it is extremely eye-opening material.
The information and viewpoints presented in this course are very different than other courses I have taken. I grew up believing that the brain was the only source of intelligence. This course, on the other hand, argues that intelligence is found not only in the mind but in our body and our world. This may sound confusing (and it is) but Professor Penny's lectures are fascinating and really bend your mind.

Advice for students:
The readings he assigns are extremely difficult to dissect. The information sounds absurd and makes no sense at first. However, during his lectures, Professor Penny breaks down the paper and explains it piece by piece. Once you understand the information somewhat, you realize that the ideas introduced in the paper are incredibly well though out.
