    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was an interesting class and it also made me finalize my decision to pursue a psychology degree.

    Course highlights:

You learn that everything a person does can be explained through sensors or why emotions sudden pop up and much more. It was interesting to see how the human mind works.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The most important part would be to memorize which part of the brain controls what and to always do the reading!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I think this is a great class to choose to take, whether that be if you are a psychology major or filling in your general education requirements. Dr. Fichtenkort is one of my favorite teachers on campus and she loves to teach about the different ways our brains work and are effected.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed learning about the different parts of the brain as well as the neuron. I learned about how neurons send signals to the brain and the process it takes in order for this to happen. Precursors are sent to the cell body and then the action potential is activated, after this happens signals are released to the action terminal and the neurotransmitters bind to their receptors and go through reuptake or metabolize.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Never skip class, every lecture Shelley Fichtenkort taught was important to attend if you want to do well on the exams. If you attend class regularly and take notes you will do fine in this class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because there are so many different disorders that is good to generally know how they work and what causes people to be that way.

    Course highlights:

You get to learn different types of mental disorders there are and how some may be similar but in fact they're totally different. There is also a section on how the brain is involved each and everything we do, how the right side is different than the left.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give is, to review your notes daily and to start good study habits, because it is a lot of info you have to know and memorize. I would suggest also to read the assignments when they're suggested and to also read ahead to get more a clear idea of the topic.
