Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course mainly because students are never left bored. It is unlike any other course in the sense that students are engaged in interactive activities as well as learning things about themselves as opposed to other people. Most of the information I learned in AP Psychology has not only assisted in other classes, but I can apply it to my everyday life. Regardless of what field of study you venture into, it is vital you know how to understand and communicate with other people. This is a skill that cannot be taught in a typical Math or Science class. This is the first class that has motivated me to actually do my homework and learn the material.

    Course highlights:

Psychology is essentially the study of the mind and behavior. We learn about the way we think, how memory is stored, areas of the brain and how each one works, optical illusions, statistics, and different mental illnesses and disorders. The highlights of this course we watching extensive videos about real life subjects in order to apply it to what we were studying-- this really helped me visually understand the concepts. Also doing many hands on activity related to testing the brain and seeing how our mind works. Overall, a very interesting class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The biggest advice I could give students taking this course would be to take the time to READ THE TEXTBOOK. Yes, it may take more time than anticipated, but it has key definitions and examples that will really help you further your understanding of the material. Not only should you do the reading, but also do the homework as well. This is not a class that you can skip homework and still get by-- and the homework will help you in preparation for the AP exam.
