    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Really sweet and helpful professor. Must be willing to speak publicly with passion and confidence.

    Course highlights:

She gave us an opportunity to debate incredibly important topics of the day and taught policy debate format.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Just speak with passion and confidence and you should do fine. You should be up to date on the topic you are debating as well. You don't need to be an expert on the topic but need to have enough evidence to make a decent case.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The professor is funny, helpful, and knowledgeable. The course itself is fascinating. It will help you get a better understanding of yourself, others, and how you communicate. A central idea of this course is that people need relationships, and relationships are built by communication. So of course, learning how to be a competent communicator can help enhance all your relationships.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was the conflict management chapter. First, you learn to identify what kind of conflict management style you most employ. Then, you learn more about your own and other types of conflict management styles and their strengths and weaknesses. This knowledge helps foster a healthier, more positive view of conflict since it is something that can be managed.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

It's simple. Follow directions, ask questions if you need to, and you'll get out of it what you put in. Floerke is very clear and welcoming of questions. Her assigments allow for a lot of self-disclosure, self-reflection, and creativity. You can pull from your own experiences, so just be ready to apply concepts from the lesson to your life. While this isn't a public speaking class, be ready to present presentations ot the class.
