Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Before I took this course, I was in an honors chemistry class at my high school where the teacher had taught college level chemistry classes before but wasn't allowed to do so at my school. The reason for this was that there is a General College Chemistry class at nearby Morgan Community College that the school would help pay for if a student was enrolled. I did very well in my high school chemistry class so I decided to go ahead and take the College level class to learn more and get ahead of my studies. Little did I know, I wouldn't learn anything from a teacher who no longer wanted to teach chemistry, a subject he doesn't even have a degree in. I really tried to take the learning into my own hands but the subject matter was either covered thoroughly in my previous chemistry course, or it was completely new and incredibly difficult to understand on my own. In my opinion, along with all of my other classmates, this class was a waste of time and money. Would not recommend.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were probably the labs that we did. There was one where we learned about surface tension and basically played with bubbles for two hours like little kids. The reason this day was beneficial was because I laughed almost the whole time. To be honest I really didn't learn anything, and if I were to take a test to ensure the credits would be worth the transfer to a university, I'd fail.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Don't take it. Not with Todd at least. He wasn't supposed to teach the class this year but got thrown back into it last minute, and we heard about how much he didn't like that all year long. I suppose if you want to put in hardly any work, spend a bunch of money, waste a bunch of time in a cringingly boring class every day of the week, do his job of cleaning on "lab days", and somehow get an easy A, go for it with lots of coffee and a quiet friendly attitude.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is very important for science and engineer majors. Although, it will still be a tough course. It's not a class that you can just walk into and fly by. You really have to get into it, study hard, and enjoy yourself.

    Course highlights:

You learn what is in it's name... Chemistry! But, you honestly don't get that deep into it. It is a General Chemistry class for a reason. It gives you the foundation for future science and chemistry classes.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take tons of notes, and by notes, I mean color code them and make them as organized as possible. It's a lot of extra work, but when the final comes around, it will help you study. There is also some memorization, so don't be afraid to make some flash cards every once in awhile.
