    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Grossbohlin was an amazing teacher and it is truly a challenging yet invigorating course. The knowledge I gained from that course I continue to refer back to in my current studies.

    Course highlights:

The highlights for me were learning about Asian and African history as we rarely studied it in my previous history classes. This course gives you a great overview of the history of the Chinese dynasties, Mongol Empire, Japanese feudal system and historical trade relations, and various African tribes and their migrations. Being able to trace the beginning of human civilizations was also one of the highlights.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not take it if you don't enjoy history! Many students did not do well because they took it simply for the AP credit but it is much easier if you actually enjoy the subject and material. Though it is a highly enjoyable class, the workload is heavy and should not be taken lightly.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was an amazing class. You basically learn the history of the world, and Ms. G does an impressively good job at explaining it all. I would take it again if I could.

    Course highlights:

We learned about the great dynasties in Asia, and the huge empires of the Golden Age. You'll cover the history of the Indus Valley civilization to the last Romanov family in Russia. The summer reading was especially enjoyable, and you learned so much from it.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Absolutely read every night. It helps to watch Crash Course videos online as well. It is a lot of work though. You'll need to become strong at writing, even if that means coming in early and staying late for her workshops.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is extremely interesting. It provides you with a new way to view the world. The course does tend to emphasis more Asian and African societies, but still manages to provide a decent overview of world history.

    Course highlights:

One of the highlights of this course was learning about the Mongols. Another topic that was extremely interesting was Muslim Empires and Caliphates.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the assigned reading. It will help understand what is happening in class. It should also help you prepare for any pop quizzes. You should never procrastinate; you will be up all night.
